The planning profession is changing
Reports
Gearing up to the Planning for the Future project, the CIP enlisted the help of a qualified consultant (Jim Pealow, AMCES) to conduct an independent analysis of the planning profession and a review of our membership standards and processes.
Membership Continuous Improvement Project – New Horizons for the Profession (PDF/276kb)
In early July, the National Membership Standards Committee met in Ottawa to consider the feedback received from Affiliates, CIP Council, the general membership and other stakeholder groups including the Association of Canadian University Planning Programs (ACUPP), the College of Fellows and the Selection Committee of the College of Fellows. Based on that feedback revisions were made to several reports. Members are strongly encouraged to become familiar with them, since certain changes arising will require by-law amendments necessitating a membership vote. A national vote is scheduled for early 2011 and Affiliate votes (where required) will be completed by the end of April 2011.
